
AUTHOR BIO
Kylie Burton is an emerging writer from QLD, Australia. Her short story, Festival of Hearts, won her a place in the Writers Pen for Write Your Heart Out — a collaboration between best-selling author Trent Dalton, The Museum of Brisbane and The Brisbane Festival 2024. Kylie's short story, Rose Cottage, was published in the Write Your Heart Out Anthology.
Kylie's chapter, Peace-ing Myself Together, features in a second Anthology, Rising Into Greatness: stories from inspiring and courageous women.
In 2024, Kylie won the Totally Lit- Micro Fiction- Carers Scholarship Award, with her short story, Peri Peri. This prize included mentorship, feedback and revision of her draft manuscript at the Relax and Write Retreat, with author and editor, Edwina Shaw.
Kylie has also contributed to the Activate Dance Recommendations for The Embrace Collective (2023 Australian of the Year Taryn Brumfitt and Dr Zali Yager), ACARA v9: Food and Wellbeing recommendations and Safedance for Kids for AusDance Qld.
Kylie is currently working on the gazillianth version of her debut novel.
She lives with her husband and sometimes her adult offspring — whenever they need tissues, money or snacks.
