In 2023, Kylie combined decades of teaching experience, lived experience and a passion for eating disorder prevention, to initiate the "Bye bye BMI" campaign. In collaboration with EDFA and The Embrace Collective (Dr Zali Yager and 2023 Australian of the Year Taryn Brumfitt), together they wrote updated safety, food and wellbeing recommendations that were endorsed and published in ACARA v9 in November 2023, leading to significant reform in the Australian school Curriculum. 

 

 Kylie brings hope to other families as she continues to advocate for change. She is currently an Associate Investigator on world-first nutrition in schools research, which will lead to the development of updated teacher training. She is also a Dance and Education Consultant for the Embrace Collective, contributing to the Embrace Kids: Teacher Masterclass, Embrace Kids: Activate Dance Recommendations and the development of safer nutrition in schools resources for students in years 7-10.

Kylie has also contributed to world-first Safedance™ for Kids Teacher Training Modules, with Ausdance Qld.​

 

Kylie is available for keynote presentations, student workshops and teacher professional development.
