Embrace Kids Symposium 2025

My experience in education spans more than three decades.

​

In 2023, I combined my teaching experience, lived experience and a passion for eating disorder prevention, to initiate the "Bye bye BMI" campaign in collaboration with EDFA and Embrace Kids  (Dr Zali Yager and 2023 Australian of the Year Taryn Brumfitt) Together we wrote updated body image, food and wellbeing recommendations which have now been endorsed and published in ACARA v9. This collective advocacy has led to further research and significant reform in the Australian school Curriculum. 

 

As we work towards implementing these updated guidelines in all Australian schools, I continue to share the Embrace message via radio, podcasts, blogs, newspapers, magazines, books, teacher conferences, panels, and with politicians, education and wellbeing advisors. I have also contributed to the following projects: ​
